Jude: Contend for the FaithSample
We reach the end of this little book and arrive at a wonderful doxology. It is addressed as many are with the phrase, “Now to Him.” This phrase and the remainder of the doxology is clearly addressed to God. We begin with God, and we end with God. This is a great reminder to us all how we should begin and end our day and our prayers.
Jude reminds us that God can keep us from stumbling and He is able to make us stand in His presence. He does this with joy making us blameless through the imparted righteousness that is in Christ Jesus. Our standing in Christ isn’t due to our own work, but because of the gift of God. The doxology continues to recognize the attributes of the Lord. Glory, power, and authority are His. We don’t give these to the Lord, but we recognize their presence in Him. These have been true always and will always remain so. The book concludes with an “Amen.”
May it be so in your life and in mine as it was for the believers who originally received this letter from Jude. May you remain faithful in your walk with the Lord and contend for the faith once delivered to the saints and to us!
