Into the Text
Sweet sister,
Take a moment to think about your thoughts and actions today. What were they focused on: yourself, your kids, your to-do list, your finances, etc.? Imagine if your days were solely focused on God. Sounds idyllic, right? It can be true. Yes, thinking about and doing things for our families is absolutely important. For the Christian, the true motivation for living is to bring praise and glory to God, offering our very lives to Him. This is what 1 Corinthians 10 is encouraging us to do. This verse isn't just about the big moments but also the small ones. It's about how we live out each ordinary day, turning our everyday actions into extraordinary offerings to God.
In the kitchen, at the office, in the school drop-off line – each place offers a chance to honor Him. By turning our focus away from the things of the world to God, we can then love, serve, and care for the people and things around us as we should. When we speak with kindness, serve with love, and carry ourselves with integrity, we paint a picture of God's grace and love to the world.
It's in the patience you show when your little one asks "why?" for the hundredth time. It's in the gentle words you offer to a friend who is hurting and in need. It's in how we care for our homes, bodies, families, and relationships. These seemingly mundane acts are sacred opportunities to reflect His glory to a watching world, knowing that we are giving them a glimpse into the abundant love and life found in Christ.
Don’t downplay these everyday moments. Instead, view your daily opportunities through the lens of God's glory. Whether it's choosing words that uplift rather than tear down or finding ways to show love to those around us, every action can become an act of worship and a testament to His unfailing love.
As we seek to honor Him in all we do, remember that while we will not do it perfectly, we can still live with purpose, grace, and a heart that earnestly desires to glorify our God.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, help me to see each moment of my day as an opportunity to honor You. Guide me in my actions, words, and thoughts so that they may all bring glory to Your name. Teach me to find joy in serving You in all things, big and small. Amen.
