Warrior's Meditation

DAY 3 OF 3

We end this plan reflecting on the words of a warrior who never lost a battle, King David. Let’s briefly examine King David’s meditative practices:

1. He meditated on God. Psalm 63:6 (NKJV) says, “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.”

2. He meditated on God’s works. Psalm 145:5 (NKJV) says, “ I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty And on Your wondrous works.”

Based on the Psalms above and Joshua 1:8, Biblical meditation involves centering our hearts and minds on God’s goodness and Word. It involves pondering on and speaking the Word of God to program our subconscious minds to accept our spiritual realities and be empowered to live as MORE THAN CONQUERORS. I can imagine David meditating on God and God’s wondrous works in giving him victory over the bear and lion before his life-changing encounter with Goliath. Only one who has meditated on God and His works can say, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day, the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day, I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth so that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.1 Samuel 17:45-47 (NKJV)

David had pondered God and His ways so much so the Lord of hosts was BIG in His mind. David had pondered his supernatural experience of killing a bear and lion with his bare hands so much that Goliath became one of those beasts in his eyes.

God becomes BIGGER than life's giants, and we THINK BIG as we meditate on God and His Word.

Practice: Meditate on the name of Jesus by pondering Philippians 2:9-11 and saying the name of Jesus at least 99 times throughout the day. Take moments to be still and write what is impressed upon your heart.

We hope you were blessed!
