Everything changed when God moved to town.

Before we breeze past this earth-shaking idea…pause for a moment and consider the outlandish reality of the God of the universe moving into our neighborhood. What a wildly awe-inspiring concept.

Throughout this reading plan, we will talk about what it means to be “Here For It” as leaders choosing to invest in the faith and future of the next generation.

We know that next-gen ministry can be complex, messy, and ever-changing, but we choose to be here for it all.

Do you know why? Well, it’s because we work from the reality that God did that very thing for us.

The Word (ethos, essence, character) became flesh and moved into the neighborhood. What John is trying to communicate is the preeminent creator became a human being. Jesus stepped into the messes of humanity. The mountain top experiences and the darkest of valleys. He endured heartache, hunger, and even the human reality known as puberty. He navigated relationships, had adults in his life who were responsible for Him, and hung out with friends.

Jesus was here for childhood.

Jesus was here for adolescence.

Jesus was here for adulting.

Now, we choose to do what we do day in and day out because we want kids and students to understand that God is a God who understands them.

Jesus shows us that God is here for us.

As we continue to show up for and invest in the faith and future of the next generation, we choose to remember our why:

We serve a God who is here for us.
