What the Bible Says About...Sample
Prayer – 4
The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him. … He hears the prayer of the righteous.
Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me. … He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. … You who answer prayer … You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior.
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. … What the righteous desire will be granted. … Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. … You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. Hear my prayer, Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.
What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him? … If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. … If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
