DAY 15 OF 21

Day 15: From Weariness to Strength:
We all go through times when we feel weary. Sometimes, we can get weary trying to figure everything out, but the Bible says in Isaiah 40:31 (AMP), “Those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; they will mount up with wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

The translation of this word “wait” in this Scripture means those who expect, look for, and hope in Him will renew their strength. The usage of the word “wait” is not a passive word. This is active. When you feel weary and tired, the act of putting your hope and trust in the Lord will cause you to be renewed with strength. Just as our bodies need fuel and our cars need gas, our spirit needs the presence of God. As we wait on Him, He replenishes us.

The other way we stand strong in the Lord is by putting on the armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-11, 17 (NLT) tells us to, “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil . . . and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” These are both ways to strengthen yourself.

It is incredibly crucial for us to be aware that in this race of life we’re running, the enemy will try to stop us. He will try to hold us back from fulfilling our destiny. He wants us to give up. He wants us to see roadblocks and turn the other way. He will use what he can: lies of fear, failure, or anxiety. That’s why we must put on our armor of strength and take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the spoken Word of God, against the lies of the enemy. When you speak the Word of God, you are pulling out a sword and moving forward in your race.
