The Character of a Wise Woman, a 10-Day Plan by Allison DanielsSample
A wise woman understands the importance of her history with God.
2 Samuel 20:18 - She continued, "Long ago they used to say, 'Get your answer at Abel,' and that settled it.
Immediately, this woman reminds Joab of the history of the town of Abel. This was a place where people came to settle disputes, not fight them out. She was not afraid to say, "This is not what we do." Culture and time had changed things, but right in the face of it all, she said this is how we honored and followed God here in this city.
Seasons are going to change. Culture will change, but a wise woman takes her stand and says, "This is our history with God!" She leads people to remember God's faithfulness and goodness. She teaches them to never forget how we walked with God before and how we should continue to do so.
It is so critical in this time that wise women rise and stand for God's word. Stand again for righteousness. Stand again for holiness. Wise women are a living memorial, a living testament of who God has been and what He has done. Wise women open their mouths, testify to nations, and say, "Look what the Lord has done!"
Reflection: What can other generations learn from your history with God? Have you shared your testimony?
