The Character of a Wise Woman, a 10-Day Plan by Allison DanielsSample
A wise woman takes the humble position of a servant.
2 Samuel 20:17b - She said, "Listen to what your servant has to say."
"I'm listening," he said.
The wise woman didn't go in trying to make a name for herself. She was known and respected in this city, hence the sole description of her as wise. She was a woman of influence. Yet she knew this moment wasn't about her - it was about her family, her friends, the land, livestock - everything they had built in this city was about to be lost. So her status mattered none; the mission was the priority.
Humility serves without a title. It is okay with being overlooked. Humility is okay with being forgotten. Humility masters forgiveness. Humility says the one ambition is God's presence and power revealed.
Do you want to be known here on earth, or do you want to be known in heaven as a servant who finished their work?
Friend, it may not bring you thousands of followers, and your name may never be in the spotlight - but first desire to be a woman full of the Spirit and full of the wisdom of God who lives to serve others. That is the highest and greatest reward in God - a life laid down.
Reflection: What is the greater purpose that God is working to produce through your life? Where is He requiring greater humility in you first?
