Lately we have been getting a lot of rain in California. Much needed rain. We have been in a drought since 2011 and brown hills, low reservoirs, and water restrictions have become the norm. But this month it rained like crazy and we are experiencing a sweet reprieve in this severe drought.

But, while our dry season is coming to an end, somewhere else it is just beginning. Somewhere else in the world, people are still begging for answers to suffering. Somewhere else down the road, someone is hoping for a second chance. Somewhere in our neighborhood, chains of addiction have yet to fall. And to be honest, sometimes the pain we see can leave us with hard questions.

When we are faced with doubt, God’s promises never fail.

When you look around at our world, what breaks your heart most?
God is close to the brokenhearted. (Ps. 34)
Where can your compassion increase?
God is compassionate and gracious, abounding in love. (Ps. 145)
Are you waiting on a miracle?
God causes all things to work together for good. (Rom. 8)
What hardship are you facing that you fear might overwhelm you?
When you go through deep waters, God will not let you drown. (Is. 43)
Is there a decision you are struggling to make?
The commands of the LORD give insight for living, and bring joy to the heart. (Ps. 19)
Can you identify an area of your life that you have not completely surrendered to Jesus?
God’s ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts than our thoughts. (Is. 55)

Your Will Be Done is really a prayer. As you listen to this song, we encourage you to hold out your hands. Palms up and open in surrender—ready to let go of your selfish ways. Ready to release your deepest concerns. Ready to relinquish control. Keep your hands open though. God is generous. Be ready to receive grace. Be ready for him to pour out love. Be ready for fresh revelation.

Prayer: God, you know everything. You had us in mind before the world began. We trust this world to you. May we live surrendered to your will and confident in your promises.
