A Kid's Guide To: Being Grateful for JesusSample
A Life of Thanksgiving
Because of all that the Son is, we have been given one blessing after another.
John 1:16 (CEV)
People talk about being blessed all the time. What is your greatest blessing? Great parents? Health and safety? Cool things you own?
When you think about it, God has given us blessings upon blessings. You could spend your whole life saying thank you!
Psst! Life hack: we should spend our lives saying thank you. Paying attention to all the blessings God gives you will change your life because it changes your heart. It teaches you to concentrate on the good things in your life—the things that come from God.
We don’t deserve blessings. We didn’t do anything to earn them. God gives them to us because He loves us. This is called grace. Truly, we are given grace after grace.
But what is the biggest blessing of all? The one that can’t ever be taken away? Jesus! Blessings are given and taken away, but God is always with us. Because of Jesus’s death on the cross, we can be forgiven for anything and everything when we admit our sins and change our attitude toward wrong things. Being adopted as a child into God’s family is utterly mind blowing! We can have all the goodness of God’s Kingdom because of Jesus and his great, great love for us.
SPIRITUAL FITNESS TRAINING
Thanking God for His blessings can change you and your family. Get a poster board or a huge chunk of wrapping paper and hang it up where everyone can see it. Have everyone write at least one thing they are thankful for every day this week.
PRAY
God, sometimes I don’t know why you love me so much. Thank you for Jesus and all he did so I can receive forgiveness.
