Joy For All SeasonsSample
“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:26 & 27)
Prayer is all I have. Prayer is the only power with any potential of making a difference.
I will wear out the carpet beside my bed with the pressure and insistence of two middle-aged knees whose resolve has been set. Nothing will move me from the battle that takes place from this position.
“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:12)
I will get up in the morning with worship in my heart and a prayer on my lips.
I will lay my head down at night with the comfort that a day given to prayer is a magnificent day!
“To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Thessalonians 1:11)
I will stand in faith and continue to believe for the miraculous change of situations, circumstances, and events.
While my prayers may not change a situation, I now know that my prayers will indeed change me.
When I pray, Jesus is glorified in me and I am glorified in Him.
“Pray then, in this way:
Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13)
