The Jesus Bible Reading PlanSample
GOD’S CARE
Psalm 104 spells out the details of God’s care for the world. The beasts of the field get their water from a spring, but ultimately that water comes from the hand of God (vv. 10 – 11). God planted the trees that the birds nest in (vv. 16 – 17). The teeming creatures of the sea look to the Lord for provision (vv. 25 – 27). The psalmist made clear God’s care for his creation. Jesus would much later take this truth and apply it to his hearers, saying, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Mt 6:26). Peter, who surely heard these words, would later write, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1Pe 5:7).
Jesus, help me to not worry about the details of this life. Instead, help me to rest in the faithfulness of your providence and provision. Amen.
