Pregnancy Prayer — Worry

Oh Ancient of Days,

I do not fear and worry because You are my Rock and my Salvation. You are clear in Your Word that I should not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Instead, You remind us that, “I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.” And I love that if we put our hope in You, Lord, You will renew our strength. We will soar on wings like eagles, we will run and not grow weary, and we will walk and not be faint. Lord Jesus, I hear and obey Your Word today.

In this dark world, I know there will be trouble and I pray that my child will not worry about what he or she will eat or drink, or about his or her body, or what he or she will wear. Let my child know that his or her life is more than food and the body is more than clothes. Help my child not to worry about anything, but instead, to pray about everything. Let him or her tell You what he or she needs, and thank You for all You have done and are going to do. And please forgive me, Lord, for letting worry creep into my life. Please, help me to be a good example of trusting in You in all circumstances.

Let my child trust in You and allow all of his or her hope to be in You alone. Let my child’s hope not be in any man or woman, wealth or beauty, but only in You, Jesus. Fill him or her with wisdom and understanding. Let my baby speak truth to others who worry and bring many to believe in You by telling them about Your precious gift of life that You so freely gave to us by dying on the cross, so that we might live with You forever in heaven.

Thank You, Lord, that worry does not need to be part of our existence.
