Pregnancy Prayer — Trials/Adversity

Dear Almighty God,

You are the Breath of Life and the bright Morning Star. I lift my hands to You, the Most High King. You said to consider it pure joy, whenever we face trials of any kind, because the testing of our faith produces perseverance. Let my child persevere and finish Your work, so that my child may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Please, walk beside my child when he or she faces trials in this world and help him or her to never give up.

I pray that when my child walks through the valley of the shadow of death, that You are with him or her and that You never leave my baby’s side, just as You promised. I know that in this dark world, my child may become fearful of the unknown. But You alone know everything, even before it happens. You have already seen each and every second of my child’s life, the good days, and the problems that surely will come. As my child walks with You and adversity raises its head, stir in my baby’s heart to stay strong by putting on the full Armor of God, so that he or she can take a stand against the devil’s schemes.

And when evil encircles and the enemy attacks my child, Lord, I speak Your protection around my baby this very minute, in the name of Jesus. Whom shall we fear? The army may encamp around us, but let us not fear. Instead, help my child to be like the shepherd boy, David, who put his hope in You before he walked out to face the giant Goliath.

I thank You that Psalm 29:11 says, “The Lord gives strength to his people and the Lord blesses his people with peace.” Instead of fear, I pray for Your peace over my child right now before he or she is even born. Please forgive me, Jesus, for being weak at times and allowing fear to be part of my life.

Help me to remember that when I am weak, You are strong.
