Through the Bible: ExodusSample
From Bondage to Freedom
All the people of Israel did just as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron. And on that very day the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts.
Exodus 12:50-51 (ESV)
Pharaoh set the Israelites free after God sent ten plagues on to Egypt. The tenth final plague brought death to their firstborn sons and livestock. Like the other plagues, Egypt was afflicted, but Israel was spared. The bondage of sin, guilt, and shame are the chains that enslave us. We desperately need God’s help. God has the power to free us today just as He did in the past. God allows the death of His own firstborn, Christ Jesus, that we might be liberated and reconciled unto Him. God’s unfailing love is based on His grace, not our worthiness. Accept God’s grace, accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for seeing us as Your own, the adopted heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Thank You for setting us free in Your power through Your life, death and resurrection. Cover us and our loved ones with Your blood Lord Jesus from the top of our head to the sole of our feet so that no evil can touch us. Give us a renewed sense of Holy Communion with You through the body and blood of our Saviour Jesus. Amen.
About this Plan
As the name suggests, the book of Exodus is about the departure of the enslaved Israelites from Egypt to the land God promised to Abraham. This is an invitation for the people to leave from bondage to freedom, to be called “My People” by God. Is there anything in life that is putting you in bondage? Do you want to be free? Join us as we journey through Exodus.
