Ever-Present PeaceSample
No Peace? Know the Prince of Peace!
Did you know that Jesus wants your life to be filled with His peace? Isaiah 9:6 refers to Jesus as the “Prince of Peace.” To have the peace that only Jesus can give begins with YOU having peace with Him.
So, what keeps you from having peace in your life? And, how can you obtain peace with God? If you disobey your mom or dad, they still love you; however, your disobedience can hinder your peaceful and close relationship with them. Having peace with God is similar.
Isaiah 59:2 states, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that He will not hear.”
The words “iniquities” and “sin” mean anything in your life that’s not up to God’s standard. You see, sinful behaviors or disobedience keep you from having a close relationship with those around you. It’s the same in your relationship with God. Sin can even keep you from going to heaven when you die.
There’s good news! When you turn away from your sinful behavior and put your faith in Jesus, God forgives your sins. The result is that you are born again. This means you become a permanent member of God’s forever family. And, God’s Son, the Prince of Peace, brings you true, ever-present peace.
Jesus declared in John 3:3: “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” You were physically born into an earthly family. Jesus says you must be spiritually born into God’s family to call yourself a Christian.
If you have not prayed to be born into God’s family, you can do so now.
Silently pray in your heart, agreeing with God that you are a sinner. Ask Him to forgive your sins. Next, thank God for His son, Jesus, who took the punishment you deserved when He died on the cross. Tell God that you want to obey Him so that you can become more like Jesus. Finally, thank God for His constant presence in your life!
If you prayed this prayer and sincerely meant it, then, you are now part of God’s family. As a Christian, you have the peace that only the Prince of Peace can give!
About this Plan
Psalm 139:23-24 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” If you actually prayed what these verses say and listened for God’s response, how would it change the way you treat others?
