The Precious Blood of God
Ephesians 1:7
In Christ we are set free by the blood of His death.
Because Pharaoh’s stubborn heart did not want to set the Israelites free, God decided to send plagues* onto the land of Egypt.
The plagues came in the following order:
Water turned into blood, frogs, lice or gnats, flies, death of the livestock, boils, hail, locusts, darkness and death of the firstborn.
At the last plague, every firstborn in Egypt died. Every family in Egypt suffered the loss of someone they loved, even Pharaoh's oldest son died. The plagues did not touch the Israelites at all. God instructed them to put the blood of a one-year old unblemished lamb on their doorframes. When God moved through Egypt, He would see the blood on the doorframe and the firstborn in that house would not be killed.
Just like the Israelites who were saved by the pure lamb’s blood, you and I are also saved by Jesus’ blood when He died on the cross. The difference is that you do not put Jesus’ blood on the doorframe, but you believe in Jesus and put Him in your heart.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for Your precious blood that has saved me. I bless Your Holy Name. Amen.
*a plague - a disaster
