The Rising: 7 Ways the Resurrection Changes EverythingSample
Day 6
A Group Project
My favorite days in high school were when my teachers would assign group projects! I loved getting to work with other students and honestly, splitting the work up made things way easier. Now, I know some of you hate group projects, because you don’t like to have to trust in or rely on anyone else, but the truth is, life is a group project! Whether you’d like to admit it or not we all need others, especially if we’re going to trust Jesus and live each and every day the way He’s called us to. The Christian life is most definitely a group project.
That’s what the author of Hebrews is talking about in Hebrews 10:19-25, the importance of “WE”. He points out to us that walking with Jesus and learning to live this resurrected life is not without it’s challenges, and that’s why we’ve got to help each other out. Hebrews 10:19-25 tells us that we can help one another to draw near to God, to fight against sin and temptation, to help each other hold on to the hope we have in Jesus, and we can challenge and encourage each other to be more and do more than we could on our own. That’s the beauty and the power of community.
As people of the rising it’s important that we lean into godly community because the truth is we’re better together.
Do you have people around you that are helping you rise to new heights and live the life Jesus rose to give you? Who are you helping raise to new heights in your own life?
