ENOUGH: HUNGER
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:12-13)
When you got up this morning, chances are that you could go into your kitchen and get yourself a drink and help yourself to breakfast. Imagine waking up hungry and there being nothing to satisfy your gnawing hunger. Imagine this is your daily life. One in seven people worldwide go hungry every day. Some people don’t even have one meal a day.
When did you last feel hungry? Did your mood change as a result of this? Did you feel like worshipping God? Those who suffer from constant hunger, both physical and spiritual, have to lean on God. They have to draw their strength from him. Do you feel content in all situations or are you constantly wanting? How can you learn to turn to God and seek him regardless of your current situation?
Father, we ask You to help us turn to You. We want to have a deep hunger for You. We call out to You to bless those who are suffering due to lack of food. We pray they will know peace and that You will comfort them in their time of need. Show us how we can make a difference. Amen.

About this Plan
In God’s eyes, we are more than enough. It’s why He sent His son to reconcile us to Him. Though we may never grasp just how much He loves us, at Lent we can take time to reflect on all He did for us. It's time to reject the message that we aren’t enough, and instead remember Christ died for us, just as we are.
