SHE 31 - Woman Of ValourSample
Who doesn’t want to live a fruitful life? I know that I do. We want the rewards of a fruitful life but are we willing to put in the time, effort, energy and sacrifice that it takes to experience fruitfulness?
All throughout this passage we read about the Proverbs 31 woman using her hands. We finds wool and busily spins it. She prepares food for her family. She makes profitable deals. She helps the needy. She makes garments and we read that there isn’t a lazy bone in her body. And at the end of the chapter we see that her hard work and diligence has paid off. The American Standard Version Bible translation says “Give her the fruits of her hands; And let her works praise her in the gates.” The New Living Translation says “Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.” There is no denying that her life is fruitful.
Consider: Is your life a fruitful one?
When you work hard, you see results. Hard work pays off. There’s no shortcut or easy way out. You can’t cut corners and leave early, hoping that ends will meet. But fruitfulness will be your reward.
Context: Why bother?
We reap what we sow. We will reap the harvest of the choices that we make, the attitudes that we hold and the time that we spend. We can’t sow disobedience and expect to reap blessing. We can’t sow inconsistency and expect to reap security. We can’t sow laziness and expect to reap success.
Over to you: Ask yourself…..
Are you fruitful?
- We all reap what we sow. What you reaping right now?
- Which areas of your life are bearing the most fruit? What changes did you need to make to reap this fruitfulness in other other areas?
- Where is there a lack of fruitfulness in your life? What one thing can you commit to today to address the areas where you lack good fruit?

About this Plan
Whilst the Proverbs 31 woman can so easily be seen as an intimidating list of characteristics we can’t measure up to, we believe that it an inspiration of all that God celebrates in His daughters. A woman not only to be revered but also celebrated and imitated. This plan is the overflow of Freedom Church's women's' ministry SHE.
