Step 3 | Compassion
Another important element in building a harmonious team mentioned in 1 Peter 3:8 is compassion. According to Dictionary.com, “Compassion implies a deep sympathy for the sorrows or troubles of another coupled to a powerful urge to alleviate the pain or distress...”
Compassion goes beyond sympathy and brotherly love and looks for ways to help others in their plight. A truly harmonious team rises to the challenge when one of their team members is in need.
In Matthew 20:34, we learn about Jesus’ compassion for the blind, “Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.”
Jesus added to His team of followers by going beyond sympathy to compassion. Does your team feel your compassion during their times of need?
