You may be looking at what you have available and saying, “This isn’t enough! How can God create a life of rest out of this?”

My oldest son, Tim, works at our ministry. With a set income, it could be hard to see provision beyond that, but when God gets involved, He can turn any situation into a display of His awesome power of rest! 

Tim wanted to buy a house with cash. He sowed his seed, believing God for a great deal on a home in his price range. He also is very handy with construction, so he was not afraid to buy a fixer upper. 

He spent his time looking at homes but not finding the perfect match. But one day, he was driving around and spotted this home that was for sale that he had not seen before. It was a foreclosure, and as he looked at it, he knew the home needed some work, but it seemed perfect. He called the real estate agent and had her check on the price of the home. He could not believe his ears—$37,000.

 

But, how could that be? he thought. 

The agent researched the house and told an amazing story. The house was indeed a foreclosure, but it was listed for $110,000 about six months earlier. That was the foreclosure price, but the home had actually sold for $160,000 a few years earlier. Apparently, no one had shown an interest in the house for the last six months since it had been listed. The bank then kept lowering the price, not knowing why no one had shown an interest. But then as Tim and his real estate agent dug a little deeper, they saw why there was no interest in the house. It was listed in a completely different city with a different address, and even the phone number to inquire was also wrong. So no one knew the house was there! The house, being on a small road in the country, on a dead-end street saw no traffic. The price just kept being lowered until the day that Tim spotted it. 

Amazing! I told Tim that the house was hidden just for him.

He repainted it and did a couple of things to the house and sold it for $160,000! God can develop an incredible plan for your life, no matter what your income, circumstances, or current opportunities!
