Extended Memorization Of Scripture: 2 PeterSample
Peter warns in the most vivid terms that God will vigorously judge these enemies of his people. Peter reminds his readers of the past examples of God’s outpoured judgment: on fallen angels (demons) (v. 4), the world of Noah (v. 5), and Sodom and Gomorrah (v. 6).
At the same time, Peter comforts the true disciples by showing that God is able to rescue his suffering people out of the midst of these judgments—Noah and Lot provide prime examples. Noah and Lot both groaned at the wicked license of their neighbors, and God spared them His wrath.
Recite yesterday’s verse, 2 Peter 2:3, ten times, being sure to include the verse number. Again, you should look at the screen if you need to refresh your memory. Old verses next, altogether: Recite 2 Peter 1-2:3 together once, being sure to include the verse numbers.
Now, recite your new verse. Read 2 Peter 2:4 out loud ten times, looking at each word as if photographing it with your eyes. Be sure to include the verse number. Then cover the screen and recite the verse ten times. You’re done for the day.
