God's Gifts Through the Church: Good leadership
Alas, good church leaders, like good parents, are a privilege not enjoyed by all. But you will experience many more church leaders than parents, and if you live long enough, chances are very good that you will benefit greatly from some inspiring and passionate spiritual leaders.
Good leaders communicate well. They share passion, insights, and direction. They take care of the needs of long-time believers as well as reach out to the lost ones in society. They work like dogs but delegate cheerfully. They know how to say “Good job!” and “Thank you” and “It was my fault.” They make sound doctrine sound good. They make following Christ look like the most wonderful thing in the world.
The Bible says in Hebrews 13:7, “Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” Good leaders are gifts, not machines. Do you appreciate yours?
