A Seed of Hope During Infertility

DAY 36 OF 56

Profile of an Overcomer: Hannah, whose name means "grace," was the wife of Elkanah. Hannah spent time with God. She was continually before His face, especially during their visits to the temple. It's important to note that her time with God was not spent only listing her troubles and complaining about God's timing not matching hers. She somehow realized that God's favor was there to work in her life and break the barrenness. Hannah knew that she could trust God. This trust prompted her to make a vow that the child God would give her would be consecrated to be used of God as He saw fit. She knew that her life would be forever changed by a child sent from God and she was willing to give that child back to God. God's grace put her in a place of honor — she gave birth to a son who would become the priest to anoint David as king of Israel. Her son's name was Samuel. Today's Takeaway: Trust in the love and favor of God. Choose to focus on His love for you. Choose to cast your cares onto Him and leave them there, because He cares for you. Today's Hope-filled Affirmation: I am fully persuaded that God is able to do what He said He would do.
