A Seed of Hope During InfertilitySample

A Seed of Hope During Infertility

DAY 1 OF 56

Profile of an Overcomer: Sarah, the wife of Abraham, had an important role in God's covenant. She was to be the only one who would bear the true heir, the child God had promised to Abraham. During her infertility, God intervened many times to protect her so that His promise could be fulfilled. Her doubt and unbelief in God's faithfulness to His promise caused her to compromise and give another woman to her husband in order to birth a child. God's ultimate response was a question to Sarah, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" The scriptures only tell us of God's conversations with Abraham up to this point. Once Sarah heard God voice his opinion about her lack of trust in His willingness to have her birth Abraham's heir of promise, she concluded that He was indeed faithful to do what He had said. She finally understood that she didn't need to help God. She found assurance in knowing that not only was He able to stop the barrenness that she had experienced for decades, but that He was also extremely willing to manifest His promise. Even though Sarah interfered with and attempted to manipulate God's plan, His loving kindness and favor ensured that the child of promise would be born His way. Today's Takeaway: God does not need our help, only our trust. Today's Hope-filled Affirmation: God's Word says that nothing is too hard for Him so infertility is not too hard for Him.
