A Seed of Hope During InfertilitySample
Profile of an Overcomer: Leah, whose name means "weary", was described as being "weak-eyed" and not as beautiful as her younger sister, Rachel.
Leah knew the pain of rejection because her husband Jacob, Isaac and Rebekah's son, was very upset that her father Laban insisted that he marry Leah instead of Rachel. Leah also experienced the pain of what we now refer to as "secondary infertility." She gave birth to 4 sons and then was unable to have any more children.
But God heard and paid attention to her prayers. He had a plan. Because He continued to show an interest in her, after a few years, she began to have children again.
Even though it was a long process for her to conceive again, in the end, the process was a blessing in many ways. Leah gave birth to a son she named Judah, who would become an ancestor of Jesus.
Today's Takeaway: The weariness, the rejection, and the shame that come attached to the season of infertility can be turned around. God hears. God cares. Infertility is not too hard for Him.
Today's Hope-filled Affirmation: My hope is in the truth of God's Word. He has a plan for me and it is all good!
