Pearls and Promises for Your MarriageSample
KNOW GOD'S HEART
Read Romans 12:1-21.
Paul addresses many topics in this passage, many of them appropriate to think about in the context of the marriage relationship. What are some of your thoughts about how you can be transformed by the renewal of your mind? How might some of the commands that follow apply to your marriage?
TAKE IT TO HEART
Read 1 Peter 3:6.
Slowly and prayerfully read through today's Scripture. Copy and paste it into an email or text to yourself and/or write it on a 3x5 card and post it where you will see it - on your refrigerator, by your desk, or on your mirror. Hide it in your heart and meditate on it today.
SHARE GOD'S HEART
Set an alarm on your cell phone a couple of times a day to prompt you to pray and to adjust your thinking about your husband. Then send him a text. When your husband walks in the door tonight get up from what you are doing and greet him with a very warm and honoring welcome. If you have had a tough day try to wait. Make an effort to watch your words and your demeanor. You can express to him that you are glad that he is home and ask him if there is anything you can get for him. Develop 1 Peter 3:6 on the inside and demonstrate it on the outside. Let your husband feel loved and respected.
