Catalyst - Known: A 21-Day JourneySample

Day 17:
Key Passage: 2 Timothy 4.1-2
As we focus on our legacy, we’re bringing together our identity in Christ and our calling to the work God has for us. With that in mind, let’s look at a passage from the apostle Paul. He knows he’s going to die soon, so he’s passing on important instructions to Timothy. Paul wants Timothy to be in the best position to serve God. Paul wants Timothy to be prepared to deal with false teaching.
Main Passage: 2 Timothy 4
Reflection:
- What is the focus of most of this passage? Why is dealing with adversity and the way we relate with people as important as the work we feel called to do?
- What five commands does Paul pass on to Timothy? How do you balance patience with the other four commands in a way that honors God?
- Ask a much older, mature follower of Christ his/her perspective on legacy and adversity. Pray for each other. Ask God to give you what you need as you relate with challenging people.

About this Plan

As a team, it is our prayer that Catalyst would spark a life-changing encounter with Jesus that would continue well after the event. Let’s dive deeper into the Holy Scriptures with this reading plan developed with American Bible Society. You’re the fulfillment of answered prayers; a generation desiring to know God and to be known by him. It’s on that foundation alone that we believe we will change the world.
