Daily EncouragementSample
Here is a word which reveals the heart of God: “I take no pleasure in the death of anyone . . . ” This is the word of “God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (1 Tim. 2:3-4). “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (1 Pet. 3:9). Let those who warn the sinner of his plight be sure they have the Spirit of God.
Here is a word, which emphasizes the immediate relation of the individual to God. It is the conclusion of a chapter, which plainly expounds this truth. Every soul stands alone before the Lord, belonging to him and responsible to him. No one can lean on another. “For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son - both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die” (Ezek. 18:4).
Here is a word which indicates the simplicity of the godly way of life: “Repent and live!” True repentance is turning away from sin: “then sin will not be your downfall”; it is turning to the Lord, the giver of life, and receiving “a new heart and a new spirit” (verses 30-31).
