EquipHer Vol. 24: "Who’s Economy Are You Working For?"

DAY 2 OF 5

Day 2 – Time to Move

"Fear paralyzes. Faith makes you move. And only those who move get to see God at work."

There are seasons—both personal and professional—when the risk feels too high, the stakes too great, and the cost of failure too heavy. So, we stay still. We delay. We bury that dream, shelve that project, hold back the words we need to speak or the steps we are called to take. Not because we are unqualified—but because we are afraid.

This was the story of one of the servants in the Parable of the Talents: “Master, I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground” (Matthew 25:25 NIV).
The servant wasn’t an evil person; he was just stuck. Although, in the world’s perspective, he may have been considered wise: better to protect what you have than risk losing it. Can you relate? But what’s justified in the world’s economy is not necessarily rewarded in God’s economy. God doesn’t reward the one who played it safe—He blesses those who step out in faith. Faith is not simply a belief or a feeling, it is a posture. A response. A conscious choice to walk in trust rather than fear.

Imagine if the other two servants had also let fear dictate their decisions. The Master wasn’t looking for flawless results—He was looking for hearts willing to move. Fear convinces us that protecting is safer than acting, but the truth is, God doesn’t bless what we bury, He blesses what we surrender in faith.

In business, this might look like sharing that idea you’ve been carrying for months, unsure if it will be well received. It might mean confronting a conflict you’ve been avoiding. It could be standing for a godly value in a boardroom where silence is easier. Faith doesn’t guarantee a smooth path, applause, or perfect outcomes, but it does anchor us in the One who holds our future.

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord. They are like trees planted along a riverbank. They are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7–8 NLT)

In the world’s economy, fear is an accepted currency, but in God’s economy, it’s faith that activates the supernatural. If God gave you a gift, it wasn’t so you could hide it. He entrusted it to you so you could develop it, multiply it, and use it to build His Kingdom.

Reflective Questions:

  • What area of your work have you been letting fear govern?
  • What might shift if you chose to act today—even trembling—trusting that God will move as you move?

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for not requiring perfection. I want to steward every gift You’ve placed in my hands with faith and responsibility, knowing You will multiply what I entrust to You. Amen.

About this Plan

EquipHer Vol. 24: "Who’s Economy Are You Working For?"

In today’s world—especially in business —value is often measured in numbers: money, statistics, followers, etc. This type of “currency” tends to breed competition, fear, and a scarcity mentality, however, there is good news. God operates with a different kind of currency. His economy is built on faith, love, justice, and generosity. In this devotional, we’ll explore how to spend God’s currency in our careers, allowing His values to transform our leadership, our decisions, and our definition of success.
