Day 2: Revelation 7 - Oh Yes!

I love this scripture. This is the church to me. All people of different backgrounds, nations, and tribes, all races and languages. Standing together, united, shouting their praises, worshiping God, the Lamb on the throne. That's the center of their attention, the center of their affection.

While reading this, I was pondering the church here on earth. What is the center of our attention? Where lies our affection?

It seems to me we're so busy criticizing each other, pointing out each other's faults, instead of encouraging one another, loving one another, that we're missing the one thing we all have in common as Christians: our love for the Lamb, Jesus. And our magnificent God. Doesn't He deserve to be our center of attention? The object of our affection? All day, every day?

Why wait till we get to heaven? Don't you know people are looking to us to be the light of the world? Somebody once said, "United we stand, divided we fall." That's true for the church as well.

So let's join that heavenly choir, singing:

The blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving,
The honor and power and strength,
To our God forever and ever and ever!
Oh, Yes!' 🙌

PS. 'Oh, yes!' is the translation of the Hebrew word 'Amen!', which means: 'Yes, this is true!' or 'Yes, I agree!' or in short: Oh, yes!

9. I saw a huge crowd, too huge to count.
Everyone was there—
all nations and tribes,
all races and languages.

And they were standing,
dressed in white robes
and waving palm branches,
standing before the Throne
and the Lamb.

10. Heartily singing:

Salvation to our God on his Throne!
Salvation to the Lamb!

12. Oh, Yes!
The blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving,
The honor and power and strength,
To our God forever and ever and ever!
Oh, Yes!

17. The Lamb on the Throne will shepherd them,
will lead them to spring waters of Life.
And God will wipe every last tear from their eyes.
