Heart for the House Sample

"Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, that You have brought me this far?" — 1 Chronicles 17:16b (NLT)
David’s response to God’s promise is one of humility and awe. Even as a king, David recognized that all he had was by God’s hand, not his own merit. I can relate to moments when I look back at my life and think, “God, how did I get here?”
Whether it’s a blessing I never expected or a door that opened in a surprising way, those moments remind me that God’s plans are always bigger than mine. David teaches us that even when God blesses us, our hearts should stay anchored in gratitude and humility. It’s easy to become entitled or think we’ve earned it, but the truth is, everything good is a gift from Him.
Take a moment today to pause and reflect on how far God has brought you. Write down three things you’re grateful for that you know only happened by His grace.
Prayer:
Lord, who am I that You have been so kind and faithful to me? Help me never forget that every good thing in my life is a gift from You. Keep my heart humble, grateful, and ready to serve You in response to Your goodness. Amen.

About this Plan

David was able to set the stage for Solomon to build the temple by providing the victories for Solomon to have peace in the land, provision, and a launch pad for the new season to come. There are lessons in this for us today! For our future generations to see victory, it will take us fighting the battles now, and generously supporting God's plans to come! Join us through 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles and be inspired by how you can be setting the next generation up for victory.
