Heart for the House

DAY 7 OF 28

"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” - Psalm 32:7

Music is powerful. It has the ability to calm us, strengthen us, and speak to us. My nephews and nieces love it when I sing to them as they fall asleep. Do you know that God sings over you? Like a parent lovingly and protectively sings over their child, so does God over you. What a safe place to be when trouble comes. Sometimes, He even gives us songs to sing during challenging times, a powerful weapon when we are pressed on all sides.

The Bible gives us plenty of examples of people who praised and worshiped God in the middle of their difficulty. Jehoshaphat and the children of Israel defeated the armies through songs of praise. Paul and Silas sang in prison, shaking them free of their chains. The Psalms are full of songs of deliverance!

Ask God to give you a song to sing when trouble comes. Have it on repeat. Sing it out in the car. He will surround you with songs and bring you through.

Prayer:

Father God, thank You that You are a safe place to hide. Thank You that You use music to encourage and strengthen us. That as we worship You, atmospheres shift. Help us to sing through our trials and please give us songs to declare. Thank You for Your protection Lord, Amen.

About this Plan

Heart for the House

David was able to set the stage for Solomon to build the temple by providing the victories for Solomon to have peace in the land, provision, and a launch pad for the new season to come. There are lessons in this for us today! For our future generations to see victory, it will take us fighting the battles now, and generously supporting God's plans to come! Join us through 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles and be inspired by how you can be setting the next generation up for victory.
