Homes on Fire

DAY 2 OF 7

A place of intimacy

David wanted with all his heart to give a physical space for God. It is not that this physical space could contain him, but it was to symbolize that the Lord dwelled among them. God is Omnipresent and everywhere, but David wanted to be a host for His presence, to give him a place where he could feel comfortable.

Today, we can host His presence in our hearts and our homes. In this environment of intimacy, the family can receive direction, identity, advice, healing, creativity, strategies, wisdom, and so much more.

Maybe you're the only believer in your home, or the only one interested in moving further with the Lord. Don't let that put you off, but let it motivate you.

Before he could build a place for the Lord, David conquered Jerusalem. You also need to act in conquering what you know is against the Father. By His Spirit, He will tell you how to wage this war. Our fight is not with people, but with distractions, the movements of darkness that bring confusion and discord. Every time an altar is raised to the Lord, there will be opposition manifested as struggles in thoughts and as confusion in relationships. But we know that we are more than victors through His love.

Prepare your heart and your life everyday to be the pleasant place of God's abode.

Challenge

· Seek a family place of intimacy together

· Decorate this space. You don't need to invest money, but be creative with what you have

· Your family can put up meaningful verses, reasons for prayer, maps, photos of people to pray for, posters exalting God's attributes, and everything that comes to mind

· Together, tell Him that you don't just want a visit, but you want him to dwell with and within you.

About this Plan

Homes on Fire

The word “home” derives from the words " focus and fire. In ancient times, families gathered around the bonfire, and that gave them a sense of protection. God's desire is that your home may be a source of light, warmth, and protection. The purpose of this devotional plan is to help you keep the fire of God's love burning and make your home an altar of worship for Him.
