Easter: A Walk Towards Holy Week (10 Day Plan)Sample

DAY 2 | The Heart of Jesus
As Jesus drew closer to the city, He wept over Jerusalem. Jesus literally burst into tears and began to cry out. His heart was broken because He knew what was coming. Not only would the city be utterly destroyed in the years to come, but Jesus knew the future of each individual person who would not accept Him… an eternity apart from their Heavenly Father.
Jesus grieved because the people did not recognize the time of God's visitation. He was devastated for those who would not receive the peace He offered them. This isn't what He wanted for them, and He didn't want to see them face the repercussions of their sins.
The same can be true for you and me. How often do we miss God's appointed times in our lives? What sins are you holding onto that God is begging you to lie down? Consider the moments when God may be working, but you were too distracted or focused on your own expectations to notice. Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your spiritual awareness, helping you recognize God's presence and activity in your daily life.
GUIDED PRAYER:
Jesus, I want to recognize the work You are doing in my life. Help me be more attentive to Your presence in my daily routine. I want to fully accept You and Your purposes for me. Guide me in the way I should go. Jesus – break my heart for what breaks Yours. Help me see the lost before me, and give me the boldness to share Your love with them.
Amen.
