Are You Living in the Overflow?

Jesus promised that when we receive the Holy Spirit, our lives would overflow with living water. “Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them” (John 7:38). The life of God within us isn’t meant to be stagnant—it’s meant to flow, touching every part of our lives and impacting those around us. Just as a river brings life wherever it goes, the Spirit’s presence within us brings renewal, strength, and transformation.

Yet, many believers experience spiritual dryness, longing for more but unsure how to step into the abundant life Jesus promised. The key is not striving but staying connected to Jesus. Eternal life is not just a future hope of heaven—it begins the moment we encounter Him. As we grow in intimacy with Christ, His Spirit fills us to overflowing, and it becomes evident in the way we live.

Paul describes this overflow in Ephesians 5:18-21. When we are filled with the Spirit, our hearts burst forth in worship—we speak to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, making melody to the Lord. Gratitude becomes our constant posture, and we walk in humility, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. This is the evidence of a life overflowing with the Spirit.

If your spiritual life feels dry, the answer is not to try harder but to draw near to Jesus. The more you abide in Him, the more His life overflows in you—not through effort, but through relationship. Don’t just remain sealed with the Spirit—live in the overflow!
