5 Days of Refuge in God’s ArmsSample

Friends Who Are Family
My two best friends slept beside me in my king-size bed for a week after my husband died. They left their own kids and took paid time off from their jobs to attend to my devastating circumstances.
I still marvel when I think about all the things they did to keep my home, the funeral, and my own existence running as they left everything behind for me. Who does that? I’ll tell you: a friend who sticks closer than even family.
It’s a supernatural love that compels our friends to help us. We choose our friends, and the ones who become family are truly what make this life sweet. There are people in your life who need to know today that you see the sacrifices they’ve made for you.
Could you reach out today with a text or a call that reminds them that you recognize their love and care? That you remember everything they’ve done and do to love you well. Meditate on the sacrifices of your friends and praise God for who they are. Bless their spirits and their families.
Prayer: Jesus, I bless my friends who are the family that held me up in my time of need.
