Praise You Still: Finding Faith in the Valley

DAY 3 OF 4

Day 3: Faith in the Waiting

When the waiting is long and the answers are unclear, the foundation of our trust matters. If our hope is in circumstances, emotions, or human strength, we will be shaken. But if our hope is built on Jesus, the Solid Rock, we can stand firm.

Psalm 62:5-8:
"Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and salvation; he is my fortress; I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”

And Hebrews 10:23 encourages us:
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."

The chorus of Sound Chapel’s “Praise You Still” is anchored around the lyric, “I will trust the name on which my hope is built.”, mirroring the declaration made in the renowned hymn “The Solid Rock”. These lyrics remind us of the unshakeable foundation we have in Jesus Christ. Jesus is unshaken by delay, unchanged by time, and undefeated by circumstances. When we trust in His Name, His Character, and His Promises, we can wait with confidence, not fear.

Waiting is hard. It stretches our faith and refines our trust. But waiting is never wasted. God is working in ways we cannot yet see. He is shaping our hearts, teaching us perseverance, and preparing us for what is ahead.

Isaiah 40:31 gives this promise:
"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

Even in the waiting, He is worthy of praise. He is Good, even when the answer hasn’t come. He is Faithful, even when we don’t understand. He is near, even when we feel alone.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 declares:
"Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation."

Habakkuk chose praise before the breakthrough, not just after. This is the kind of faith that honors God—one that says, "I will praise You still."

So today, praise Him still. Not because you see the answer yet, but because you know who He is.

As you listen to “Praise You Still” by Sound Chapel, reflect on these questions:

  • What are you waiting on God for in this season?
  • How can you worship in the waiting, even before you see the answer?
  • What Scripture can you hold onto when doubt tries to creep in?

Prayer:
Jesus, even in the waiting, I will praise You still. When the answers are slow to come, help me trust the Name on which my hope is built. You are Faithful through every season, and my confidence is in You alone. Strengthen my heart as I wait, and let my worship never waver. In Your Name, Amen.
