God's Redemption Story (Revelation)

DAY 26 OF 40

We Hope in Jesus - Day 26

The Apostle John experienced some of the highest mountains and some of the deepest trenches. He walked, ate, and laughed with Jesus. And then he watched as his teacher and friend died a brutal death on the cross. He saw his Savior raised to life again and ascend into heaven. For the next five or six decades, John experienced the tremendous joy of leading others to Christ, as well as the deep struggle of following Jesus under Roman emperors who hated and murdered Christians.

And when the 80-year-old was exiled to the rugged island of Patmos because he followed Jesus, God chose to give him a clear vision of who was really in charge. The Romans may have ruled the civilized world on earth, but Jesus was and is, and will always be, sitting on his throne. Who or what controls your world today? Politicians? Boss? Landlord? Struggling relationships? Place your hope in Jesus, the one true King who rules from the throne in heaven and has ultimate control.
