Gideon

DAY 4 OF 7

God's unconventional plans

When Gideon gathered an army to face the Midianites, God reduced his troops from 32,000 to just 300. Human logic would say this was a terrible strategy, but God had a purpose: to show that the victory belonged to Him, not man.

Sometimes, God’s plans don’t make sense to us. He might strip away our resources, change our circumstances, or lead us down an unexpected path. In those moments, it’s easy to feel like everything is falling apart. But just as God worked through Gideon’s small army, He can work through our limitations to reveal His power. Are you in a situation where you feel like you don’t have enough strength, resources, or wisdom? Trust that God’s ways are higher than ours. He often uses what looks like weakness to display His strength. When we lean in to Him, He equips us with what we need, often in ways we least expect.

When you feel outnumbered or overwhelmed, remember Gideon’s 300. God is more than capable of bringing victory, no matter how impossible the odds seem. His plans are always for our good, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in us.

Prayer: Lord, help me trust Your plans, even when they don’t make sense to me. Remind me that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Thank You for working through my limitations to bring glory to Your name. Amen.

About this Plan

Gideon

“You might feel inadequate, but God calls you ‘mighty.’ You might feel overlooked, but God says, ‘I am with you.’ Gideon’s story reminds us that it’s not about who we think we are, but about who God says we are.” (Gideon – Heidi Wysman). Be encouraged by this plan as you learn more about the God who calls and equips us to do His work!
