The Prince Without a Name

DAY 9 OF 9

He Will Not Return to Me

David said that the child would not return to him, but that he would go to his son on the day of his death: I will go to him, but he will not return to me. This statement reflects the Earthly and human reality of the definitive separation caused by death. However, the Gospel reminds us of an extraordinary Truth: Jesus, with his Death, did not go away definitively, but on the contrary, he returned to us with his Resurrection. We can joyfully say: "He has returned to me!"

The Death and Resurrection of Jesus represent the heart of our faith. Jesus did not remain in the tomb, but returned alive, victorious over death and sin. To the empty tomb, it was said he is not here, because he is risen. Not only did he come back to life, but, after his Ascension into Heaven, he also came back in the Power of the Holy Spirit, whom he sent upon his disciples at Pentecost, exactly as he had said. "The Father will give you another Counselor, to be with you forever."

And not only that, Jesus promised to return physically at the end of time to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. In fact the Word tells us that Jesus will return in the same way in which the apostles had seen him go to Heaven. When he returns, he will establish a Kingdom of Justice, Peace, and Love, as prophesied: The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, from generation to generation.

The story of David and the child reminds us of the pain of separation that sin brings, but in Christ we see the triumph of Reconciliation and Hope. He has returned to us, he has given us the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort us, and one day he will return again to gather his children and reign forever. This Promise gives us strength and joy as we proclaim the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Eternal King.

I hope this story has brought you closer to the Heart of God, giving you a new perspective on how God works even in suffering and the most painful situations to fulfill his Plan of Redemption. Suffering is never meaningless in the Divine Plan, and through the Cross of Christ, we have the certainty of Peace, Hope, and Eternal Life. His Suffering was the most fruitful in the history of Humanity. His Suffering was our Salvation.

God bless you, Pastor Carmelo Orlando.

Day 8

About this Plan

The Prince Without a Name

The story of David told in 2 Samuel 11 and 12 is one of the most profound narratives in the Bible, as it shows us the power of sin, the consequence of human actions but also the great Mercy of God that He has shown not only to David and all the accomplices of the story but also, after several millennia, to our lives. This story focuses on David, the King of Israel, who fell into a series of serious sins, but who found the way to forgiveness thanks to his sincere repentance.
