Day 3: The Blessing of Spiritual Growth and Intimacy

While marriage can indeed be a beautiful means of spiritual growth, it is not the only way God nurtures us. Single women have the unique opportunity to grow in a deep and intimate relationship with God without the distractions that come with marriage. Jesus, though He lived in a world that valued marriage, remained single throughout His ministry. His closest relationship was with His Father, and He prioritized spending time in prayer, seeking God’s will in all things.

Consider Jeremiah, who was called to singleness in a culture that placed great value on marriage. His life, dedicated fully to God, allowed him to speak the hard truths of God’s Word without the personal distractions that might have come with marriage. God used him powerfully in a season of spiritual decline in Israel, and though his life was filled with hardship, he experienced an intimacy with God that transcended any earthly relationship.

In your own life, being single gives you time to grow closer to God. You can devote more of your energy to spiritual disciplines like prayer, Bible study, and worship. As you spend time with God, He will draw near to you, shaping you into the woman He has called you to be. Cultivate this season by allowing God to deepen your relationship with Him.

Remember, your single years can be a time of unmatched spiritual growth, just as the apostle Paul experienced in his own life. He was able to pour out his heart and soul for God’s work because he had the freedom to do so. This season is a gift—a chance to grow in your intimacy with God and to prepare for whatever He has ahead.
