How to Multiply the Gospel // Gospel X - Multiplying the GospelSample
Jesus can do nothing by himself, he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. This is a very deep verse and whole sermons can be done around it.
What does it mean? Jesus himself can only do what God, the Father, wants to do.
How does Jesus know this? Through prayer and studying the Bible. Jesus had a vivid prayer life. The gospels mention regularly that Jesus went off by himself to pray. These are exemplary instances to show that prayer was an important part of his life. He went off to pray after a busy day, before a busy day, to get some rest, to seek God, before ministering, after ministering and so on. There is a special emphasis on Jesus’ prayer before his arrest. He even asked three of his disciples to join him. So, Jesus used prayer frequently to prepare him and know God’s will. He knew the will of his Father in Heaven.
Thus, prayer is a good way to find out the will of God, to find out whom He already has prepared. There is a treasure in reaching out to people that God already has prepared. Interceding for people is also a way to prepare them so they are open to you sharing the gospel. Therefore, prayer is important. Both to prepare for any conversations that arise and also for you to know whom to reach out to.
- If you ask God about someone to share His love with, who does God show you?
- Who is already prepared in your surroundings to hear more about Jesus?
- Have you ever experienced a situation when you had the impression that God had prepared the person already?
- What was the difference?

About this Plan
Jesus left the church the vision of a movement when he challenged us to reproduce from our own Jerusalem into “Judea, Samaria and the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). For us to see a movement, we need every Christ follower to adopt Jesus' personal mission to “seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10). Evangelism is core to the mission of Jesus and essential to accomplishing his vision. This plan is part of a 5 week journey built around the topic Gospel X - Multiplying the gospel.
