Prayer for Purpose

No matter what dreams we have for our kids, walking in their God-given purpose is a key prayer for parents. There is no time like the present to begin praying over their destinies and legacies.

Our prayers make a difference right now--even if we won't see the fruit of our prayers for years. Whether your child is little, if they have gone off the rails, they're not speaking to you, they've made poor decisions, or they're crushing it—no matter where they are in life, they need our prayer covering.

Serving the Lord and making a Kingdom impact doesn't happen by accident. It happens with purposeful prayer.

God has the best plans for our children. And when we stand on his promises and step into agreement with his will, the heavens burst forth in supernatural activity on their behalf. Don't stop praying, no matter what it looks like in the natural. Don't quit when they walk away, sass you, outright rebel, or go in a direction you never saw coming. Don't quit when they're throwing toddler or teen tantrums. Don't quit even when they are all grown up.

God PROMISES to continue his good work in us until it is finished (Philippians 1:6). He wants all of us to come to him like children. He grants our heart's desires and makes all our plans succeed when we align with his will (Psalms 20:4).

There are so many promises in God's word for us, our children, and children's children. His blessings for obedience don't just bless us; they continue down our heritage and touch future generations. Our prayers do the same.

More prayers by praying mamas, dads, grandmas, grandpas, and even spiritual parents can change the trajectory of our kid's lives. Our legacy is on the line—let's get intentional about prayers for our children!

Prayer for Purpose: God, we know you have good plans for our children, plans to prosper them, to give them hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Father, we ask that you perform your good work in ___________ until it is complete, and we thank you for fitting them perfectly for their Kingdom purpose. Please help us raise these World Changers and launch them into the legacies and destinies you have for them. Guard and protect their purpose in their hearts and their place in your Kingdom. In Jesus' name, amen.
