Prayer for Peace

The world we are handing our children is full of chaos. Daily, we hear about accidents, wars, inflation, and other bad news. We don't want this for our kids, but what's a parent to do?

PRAY!

We can pray for a peace that passes all understanding to guard the hearts and minds of our children (Philippians 4:7). God's peace is not like the world's peace. It doesn't hinge on circumstances or behavior or even people getting along.

We want our children to experience God's peace because we know they will face trouble. Life isn't easy, but we can show them how to operate from a place of peace regardless of their circumstances.

Our kids learn from the way we handle chaos. If we fall apart when things don't go our way, chances are, they will, too. But if we let God's peace push out the worry, fear, and chaos, even in challenging situations, we show them a different way to walk through hard times.

God's peace is for all His children, including our children. Praying for them to live daily in God's peace is an essential hedge against the enemy's tools. He wants to infect our kids with worry, fear, depression, and anxiety. The solution is not peace as the world offers but God's peace.

We can set up our kids for success by praying for the peace of God in their lives!

Prayer for Peace: Father God, thank you for what Jesus promised us in John 14:27, that he left us with His gift of peace, which is a different peace than the world offers. Help us to remind our kids that we don't have to be troubled or afraid because we have God's peace. Let the peace of Christ guard ___________'s heart and mind. Thank you that when my children go through deep waters, rivers of difficulty, or the fire of oppression, you are with them, and they won't drown or be consumed, as promised in Isaiah 43:2. You are such a good Father to give us peace over any situation, circumstance, or problem. Thank you! In Jesus' name, amen.
