We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to GodSample
Day 23 of 365
In Job 36-37, Elihu describes God’s greatness and purity, emphasizing His power and holiness. He reminds Job of God’s might and the awe we should have for Him, a God who controls the skies and the seasons. In Matthew 15, Jesus teaches that what defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth, but what comes out of the heart, for our words and actions reveal our true nature.
The Holy Spirit works within us to cultivate this purity of heart that Jesus speaks of, transforming our desires and aligning them with God’s character. When we surrender to the Spirit, He cleanses our hearts and enables us to live lives that reflect God’s holiness and love.
Today, ask the Spirit to reveal any areas in your heart that need cleansing. Invite Him to purify your intentions, so that your words and actions reflect the purity and holiness of God, drawing others closer to Him.
