We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to GodSample
Day 131 of 365
In 2 Samuel 9, David seeks out Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, showing him kindness for Jonathan’s sake. Mephibosheth, crippled and vulnerable, receives a seat at the king’s table—a powerful symbol of grace. The Holy Spirit reveals to us that God’s grace is unearned, a gift given out of His abundant love. Just as Mephibosheth received favor he didn’t deserve, we, too, are invited to God’s table, embraced by His mercy.
In John 2, Jesus performs His first miracle at the wedding in Cana, turning water into wine and displaying the abundance of God’s grace. The Spirit teaches us that God’s grace is not just sufficient; it is abundant, overflowing, and beyond anything we can imagine. His grace meets us in our need, transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you embrace God’s grace fully. Let go of any feelings of unworthiness, and accept that His love and favor are yours, freely given. As you receive this grace, allow it to transform your heart, inspiring you to extend grace and kindness to others.
