We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

DAY 115 OF 365

Day 115 of 365

In 1 Samuel 8, Israel demands a king, desiring to be like other nations. They reject God’s leadership in favor of human rule, missing the blessings that come from trusting in His wisdom. The Holy Spirit challenges us to examine areas where we may prioritize our own understanding over God’s vision. When we follow our desires above His will, we risk losing the fullness of His plans.

In Luke 18, Jesus heals a blind beggar whose persistent faith opens the door to transformation. The Spirit encourages us to approach God with unwavering trust, believing that His vision far surpasses our own. When we seek His perspective, we gain clarity and confidence to follow Him wholeheartedly.

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you trust God’s vision above your own. Invite Him to reveal any areas where you’re relying on human wisdom, and surrender those to His guidance. Let Him open your eyes to see His purpose clearly, walking forward with a heart fully committed to His will.

About this Plan

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God is a 365-day Bible reading plan led by Bishop Gary Lewis, the General Overseer of the Church of God. The plan is designed to deepen your faith and understanding of God’s Word. Each day begins with a short devotional, followed by carefully curated Scripture readings, and concludes with the S.O.A.P. exercise—Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Through this plan, you’ll grow in biblical literacy, discover God’s mercy and purpose, and learn to partner with Him in His Kingdom work.
