Fruit of the Spirit: A 14-Day Fast DevotionalSample
Today’s focus is on love—the cornerstone of the Fruit of the Spirit. As you reflect on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, consider how God’s unconditional love transforms the way you view and treat others. This love isn’t passive; it’s active, sacrificial, and reflective of Jesus’ character. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in loving others selflessly, even when it’s hard.
Love is not just a feeling—it’s an intentional choice to embody the very nature of Christ. Love is patient, kind, and selfless. It doesn’t hold grudges, rejoice in wrongdoing, or insist on its own way. Instead, it reflects the sacrificial love of our Heavenly Father, who loves us not because of our performance or worthiness, but simply because of who He is.
This kind of love is countercultural and often difficult to display. Whether it’s forgiving someone who has wronged you, showing grace in frustrating situations, or choosing to love when it’s undeserved, love is an action that mirrors God’s character. As the Holy Spirit works in us, He enables us to put aside pride, anger, and selfishness, allowing His love to flow through us to others.
Discussion Questions:
- In what ways can you show sacrificial love to someone in your life today, even if it’s undeserved?
- How does understanding God’s unconditional love for you impact the way you respond to others?
